The counselors are not afraid of anything! They are always joyful, prepared for anything and make camp so much fun.
Zipline was today with our buddy unit. It was super amazing and a fun experience.
Brownie hike was super fun.
Rappelling was scary but I really learned to trust in the counselor. I didn’t think I could do it, but after I did it, I went 3 more times.
I learned to really trust the Lord in Lifeline. Challenges are trials…you can go back around and learn from your mistakes. I learned that being quiet with your own thoughts helps you hear our Heavenly Father.
I have a real fear of heights but I tried rappelling and found that the steepest rock was the most fun and I learned not to be so scared because there are people to help us.
My favorite part of camp was Lifeline because it brought me closer to Christ. I learned to trust in my feelings and it’s ok to try hard things even though you don’t always know how to do something. If we are patient, we can rely on Christ to help with hard things.
My counselor helped me so much to be comfortable meeting new people. By the end of the week, I felt really close to the other girls in my unit.
I LOVE my counselor. Hugs every night. She was super fun.
I learned that someone is always with us and willing to help us. We don’t have to go through trials or hard stuff alone. Heavenly Father is always with us too and will guide us.
I loved spending time with people I didn’t know.
My counselor would sing us to sleep!! Awesome.
Food was good and we didn’t have to make it.
I didn’t want to come to camp. I thought it would be boring but I’ve had so much fun. I feel so good being here. I don’t want to go home.
I wanted to come with a group of friends from my ward, but I had to come a different week. I’m so glad I came when I did. I’ve made so many new friends. The counselors really make sure we all get along and learn to appreciate each other.
I can’t wait to teach some of the camp songs to my friends. I bought one of the song books to take home. The songs are so spiritual and some are just really funny. I learned I can sing a song in my head if I ever feel scared or down and it will help me feel better.
The hikes were really neat. It is so pretty at Brighton and you can choose what hikes you want to go on. I went on the sunrise hike and we left in the middle of the night and got to the top of the mountain to see the sunrise. It was so cool. We sang a song at the top that made me really appreciate my Heavenly Father.
I loved the brownies.
My Mom made me come. I didn’t want to but now I don’t want to go home. I think I might want to come back one day when I’m older and be a camp counselor. They are so nice and really care about us.
Don’t pack a lot because you have to carry everything up hernia hill and it might kill you.
We had a really good speaker on Weds night then the counselors sang to us. I think that was my favorite part of camp. It made me feel so close to Christ.
Brighton camp was one of the best things I’ve ever done. I learned to push through fear and disappointment and have a heck of a lot of fun doing it. I still pull out the songbook and sing a few of my favorite songs from time to time. I love that place.

I attended camp when I was 12 and 13 years old. This experience really helped shape who I am and helped me develop a sense of adventure, but most importantly, helped me in developing my love for Jesus Christ through nature.
